Situation

Igence is a young company developing software
solutions for engineering projects. They had been
successful in winning major contracts in the
defence and transport industries but wanted to
expand the customer base.

Objective

To raise the market profile of Igence with major
multinational companies and generate new
customers.

Action

Research with potential customers was undertaken which identified the
company's strengths and the competitors' weaknesses.

With this knowledge the company positioning and the key marketing
messages were created.

A design company was briefed and a strong and unique corporate identity
was created. This was incorporated into marketing material including a new
web site.

A communications plan, including direct marketing, was implemented.

Result

The implementation of the marketing plan generated high awareness with the
target audience and had a positive impact on their perception of Igence.
New business was won and the company’s progress was recognised with the
award of runners up for the 2004 Surrey Entrepreneurial Business.
